In line with Davao City’s continuing mission to be one of the safest and most livable cities in the world, a 2,000 sq. m complex comprised of police, fire and Central 911 stations was inaugurated in Northtown, Cabantian on June 21. It is the country’s first and only integrated safety and rescue facility and was donated to the City Government of Davao by real estate developer Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev), a member company of the Alcantara Group.
PNP’s police station will help ensure the safety and security of residents in Cabantian and nearby communities.
The donation included a 322 sq. m two-storey fire station, a 119 sq. m one-storey police station with two detention cells, and a 238 sq. m two-storey 911 station with an infirmary and an ambulance. The facilities are operated by the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police and Davao Central 911, respectively. Being in one location allows the three agencies to streamline their response to distress calls in the areas of Cabantian, Indangan, Acacia, Tigatto, and other barangays in the Buhangin District, one of the most populated areas in city.
The Central 911 station includes an infirmary and a standby ambulance donated by Alsons Dev. Prior to the APSC’s opening, the closest Central 911 station was 10 kilometers away.
The Alsons Public Safety Complex is now fully operational and has responded to several distress calls since April.
BFP’s fire station is equipped with two fire trucks and ten personnel, ready to respond to emergencies and provide fire protection services.

A STEADFAST MINDANAO
According to Mr. Tomas I. Alcantara, the public safety complex will “bring essential government services closer to the people.” Mr. Alcantara also expressed Alsons Dev’s continued commitment to community building, especially in the Buhangin and Cabantian Districts where their most recent Alsons Dev residential projects, namely Northtown, Northcrest, and Narra Park Residences, are located.
“We see today’s inauguration of the Alsons Public Safety Complex as our modest contribution to ensuring that Davao City continues to be the safest city in the Philippines and one of the ten safest cities in the world. We at the Alcantara Group stand ready to work together with our partners in government and private individual homeowners to ensure that the quality of life we all worked very hard to build continues into the next generation and beyond.”
