Located along C. Bangoy St. in the former location of Madrazo Fruit Stand, Poblacion Market Central is opening its doors this October to host Mindanao Art 2021, the biggest display of the island’s best and brightest talents.

Leading homegrown real estate developer Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev) is hosting Mindanao Art 2021, the biggest display of the island’s best and brightest talents, from October 1-31, 2021 at Poblacion Market Central, the developer’s latest commercial development located along C. Bangoy Street.

On display at Poblacion Market Central’s atrium are Jeff Bangot’s “being in between” murals and Kublai Millan’s butterfly chandelier installation, which invite onlookers to ponder the exhibit’s theme, “Art in Between: Mindanao Art in Liminal Space”.

Now in its third installment, the exhibit theme this year is “Art in Between: Mindanao Art in Liminal Space”. It’s an invitation to reflect and recognize where we are right now—in a space of ambiguity and disorientation, in between apprehension and hope for the future as we venture into the unknown.

The works of over 300 artists from more than 30 galleries and art groups in various areas of Mindanao will be featured this year, as well as satellite exhibits and special events, which can be viewed online at www.mindanaoart.org and Mindanao Art’s Facebook page.

“We are happy to partner with Poblacion Market Central for this year’s Mindanao Art. It is the most appropriate venue for our exhibit since we share the same vision: to showcase Mindanaoan artistry and Mindanao’s rich cultural heritage. We are grateful to Alsons Dev, the developer behind Poblacion, for believing in Mindanao talents,” says Kublai Millan, a renowned Mindanaoan artist and the head of Lawig Diwa, Inc., the organization spearheading the event with the help of the National Commission on Culture and the Arts, the National Committee on Art Galleries (NCCA-NCAG), and numerous media partners.

“We are likewise happy to host Mindanao Art 2021,” concurs Eric de la Costa, Vice President and General Manager of Alsons Dev. “Promoting local artistry and Mindanaoan culture, heritage, and identity is one of the foundations of our pioneering commercial development, Aldevinco Shopping Center, and we aim to carry on this mission through Poblacion Market Central.”
