On March 11, 2019, Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev) signed a joint venture agreement (JVA) with CentralHub Industrial Centers Inc. (CentralHub), the industrial leasing subsidiary of DoubleDragon Properties Corporation (DoubleDragon), for a 6.2-hectare industrial warehouse complex in Alsons Dev’s property in Barangay Lasang, Davao City.
The signing was led by Alsons Dev EVP Rosvida A. Dominguez and DoubleDragon Co-chairs Edgar “Injap” Sia II and Tony Tan Caktiong. They were joined by Alcantara Group executives Paul Dominguez, Conrad Alcantara and Marco Alcantara, and DoubleDragon executives Ferdinand Sia and Hannah Yulo.
The first of its kind in Mindanao, CentralHub-Davao will offer 40,392-sqm of leasable space suitable for warehousing, cold storage, commissaries, light manufacturing, and logistics distribution. Strategically located along Pan-Philippine Highway near the new Lasang Public Market and the proposed JICA bypass road in the Panabo intersection, CentralHub-Davao will be accessible from major ports and terminals such as the Davao International Container Terminal Inc. (DICT) in Panabo, Davao del Norte and the Francisco Bangoy International Airport.
“We believe that this development will help position Davao City as the premier investment hub in Mindanao. CentralHub-Davao will propel growth and improve competitiveness of local industries by reducing transport and logistics costs. It will also create employment and business opportunities for the local community,” said Alsons Dev EVP Rosvida A. Dominguez.
This JVA marks Alsons Dev’s second partnership with DoubleDragon, the first being CityMall-Northtown Center, a 1.5-hectare community mall complex within Alsons Dev’s township project in Cabantian, Buhangin.
“We are very optimistic with our recent joint venture with Alsons Dev to build a CentralHub warehouse complex in Davao. Partnering with Alsons Dev gave us access to suitable land and the benefits of a partnership with a reputable homegrown property company. Davao City is a priority location for CentralHub given its very favorable long term economic prospects,” said DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar “Injap” Sia II.
Construction of the CentralHub industrial complex is expected to start in 2021.
