Even though the year 2020 was a challenging one for all of us, Alsons Dev wishes to end it on a bright and colorful note.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many aspects of our lives, including our way of learning. Students are now expected to continue their education from home and answer modules without the physical presence of a teacher, which may result in stress and burnout. Hoping to reduce this, Alsons Dev gifted the children of Brgy. 4-A, Davao City with art materials to enable the kids to have a creative outlet.
Instead of putting up Christmas decorations in Aldevinco Shopping Center this year, Alsons Dev reallocated its budget to a gift-giving drive that hopes to boost the children’s creative side. Coloring books by renowned Mindanaoan artist Kublai Millan and art materials such as crayons, colored pencils, and modelling clay were given to the beneficiaries.

The turnover was conducted on December 4, 2020 at the Barangay Hall of Brgy. 4-A. Alsons Dev AGM for Business Unit Groups Ms. Jolla A. Soriaga led the turnover of a hundred sets of art materials to Brgy. Kap. Danilo O. Juntilla. Kublai Millan himself graced the turnover ceremony as well.
“This initiative aims to promote love for art and culture to kids. Creativity through art brings color to our life. And by integrating it with our culture, it carries our traditions and values through generations,” said Ms. Jolla Soriaga.
Through this initiative, Alsons Dev aspires to foster interest in Mindanaoan culture, which is one of the pillars of Aldevinco Shopping Center. It is a mission the developer hopes to carry on through Poblacion Market Central, a new commercial project along C. Bangoy Street, Davao City which is set to be launched in August 2021.
