Davao City – Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev), in partnership with the Camera Club of Davao (CCD), the Davao City Office for Culture and the Arts (OCA), and the Conrado and Ladislawa Alcantara Foundation, Inc. (CLAFI), hosted an interactive photo exhibit entitled “Kadayawan of the Past” featuring archival images from previous Kadayawan celebrations.
Running from August 15 to 22, 2025 at the lobby of Poblacion Market Central, the exhibit offers an immersive journey into the history of Davao’s premier festival. Through the lens of local photographers, the exhibit traces Kadayawan’s journey, honoring its roots while celebrating how the festival continues to thrive as a showcase of culture and heritage. Each photograph serves as a visual narrative of tradition, resilience, and the bounty that the festival represents.
The exhibit was officially launched with the ceremonial banging of gongs led by representatives from CLAFI, OCA, CCD, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), the Davao Historical Society (DHS), and the Davao City Council. Guests were also treated to a cultural performance by the Apo Sandawa Performing Ensemble, further setting the tone for the celebration.
